This
tutorial was created using PSP version 8 but I see
no reason why it cannot be created using all versions of
PSP.
For
this tutorial you will need the following:
Paint
Shop Pro (Trial Version)
Graphic
and template here
Font
of choice
Let's
get started on our tag!
1.
Open the graphic and template in PSP that was provided
in the supplies zip. Shift+D to make a duplicate
of your graphic; close out the original so you will have
it if you want to use it again. Set your
background/fill color to #C32413.
2.
Make the template your active image and go to
Edit/Copy. You can close out your template now; go
back to your graphic and go to Selections/Select
All. Layers/New Raster Layer. Next, go to
Edit/Paste/Paste Into Selection.
Selections/Float. Flood fill your selection with
your red background color. Selections/Invert.
3.
Layers/New Raster Layer. Effects/3D Effects/Cutout
using the settings shown below.
Vertical
0; Horizontal 0; Opacity 100; Blur 25; Color Black
Selections/Select
None.

4.
Hide (X out) your background layer and merge visible
your template and cutout layers. With your merged
layer being the active layer, go to Effects/3D
Effects/Drop Shadow using the settings shown below.
Vertical
1; Horizontal 1; Opacity 100; Blur 4; Color Black

5.
Remove the X from your background layer and merge
visible all layers. Activate your selection tool
and use the settings shown below:
Rectangle;
Feather 0; Anti-alias checked; Add(Shift) Mode
Layers/New
Raster Layer. Draw a long rectangle under your
picture (see header tag for where to draw
rectangle). I started at points 65,298 to
366,352. Flood fill your selection with black
(#000000). Selections/Modify/Contract by 2 pixels.
6.
Flood fill the selected area with white (#FFFFFF).
Selections/Select None. Effects/Distortion
Effects/Wind using the settings shown below.
Wind
Direction - From Left; Wind Strength - 100

7.
Effects/Distortion Effects/Wind using the settings shown
below.
Wind
Direction - From Right; Wind Strength - 100

8.
Activate your selection tool and draw a selection around
the part where the wind layer covers the double squares
at the bottom right of your tag (see below for
example). Hit the delete key on your keyboard.

9.
Effects/Texture Effects/Blinds using the settings shown
below.
Width
3; Opacity 40; Color Black; Horizontal checked
Lower
the opacity of this layer to 80.

10.
Layers/Merge/Merge All (Flatten). Image/Add
Borders 3 pixels symmetric checked; Color Black
11.
Time to add your text to your tag. I used Bank
Gothic Light with the background color set to Black and
the foreground color nulled out. Size was set at
60; Vector; Anti-alias checked. Then after I had
my text like I wanted, I added a drop shadow effect
using the settings shown below.
Vertical
1; Horizontal 1; Opacity 100; Blur 2; Color Black
12.
Once you have finished with your text, merge all
(flatten) all layers. Resize if needed and save in
desired format.

is another example of this tutorial.
