This
tutorial is dedicated to Inga; you are a special friend,
Inga.
This
tutorial was created on June 14, 2005 and is the
property of Bubbles' Psp; please do not remove this
tutorial, in whole or in part, from my site to add to
another site unless I have given you permission to do
so.
This
tutorial was created using Psp version 8. It
should be able to be created using any version of Psp
with a few modifications which I discuss below.
For
this tutorial you will need the following:
Paint
Shop Pro (Trial Version)
Ommadawn
Filter (Filter Factory Gallery V or
Toadies)
Redfield's
Craquelure 3D
Gold
Pattern here
Tube
of choice
Font
of choice
Let's
get started on our tag!
1.
Open your tube in Psp; Shift+D to make a copy of your
tube. Close out the original tube as we will be
working on the copy. Set your foreground/stroke
color to patterns and select the gold pattern that was
provided in the supply zip. Set your angle to 0
and the scale to 100.
2.
Image/Canvas Size 600w x 600h; click once on the center
arrow.

3.
Go to Layers/Duplicate and duplicate your tube layer
three (3) times for a total of four (4) tube layers in
all. Hide the top three layers (click on the eye
next to each of the layers to hide) and make your bottom
tube layer (original tube layer) the active layer.
4.
Adjust/Softness/Soft Focus using the settings shown
below:
Softness
80; Edge Importance 20; Amount 30; Halo Size 15; Halo
Visibility 0; Include scattered light is checked;
Edit/Repeat Soft Focus effect.
Note:
You can get the soft focus effect by using Xero's
Porcelain or Soft Mood filter; or you can go to
Soften/Soften More and apply this two (2) times; then go
to Blur/Average set at 3.

5.
Lower the opacity of this layer to 50%. Grab your
mover tool and move this tube to the right and up some
making sure to not get too close to the edge of your
image. Remove the x from your second layer and
make it your active layer.
6.
Adjust/Softness/Soft Focus using the same settings as
before (your settings will still be there). Apply
the soft focus effect only one time. Effects/Plugin
Filters/Redfield/Craquelure 3D using the settings shown
below (Or play around with the settings and choose a
different effect).

7.
Move this tube layer over to the left some (see header
tag for example). Lower the opacity of this layer
to 55%.
8.
Remove the x from your third tube layer and make this
layer your active layer. Adjust/Blur/Gaussian Blur
with a radius of 15. Effects/Plugin Filters/FFGallery
V or Toadies/Ommadawn using these settings:
Cell
Width 17; Cell Height 16; Cell "a" Sharp/Soft
234; Cell Edges On/Off 17
9.
Select your magic wand (tolerance 0 feather 0) and click
on your black lines. Hit the delete key on your
keyboard one time. Flood fill your selected areas
(deleted lines) with your gold fill pattern.
Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow using the settings below:
Vertical
3; Horizontal 3; Opacity 80; Blur 12; Color Black
Selections/Select
None. Adjust/Sharpness/Sharpen.

10.
Remove the x from your top tube layer and make this
layer your active layer. Adjust/Softness/Soft
Focus using the same settings as before; apply once this
effect only one time. Effects/3D Effects/Drop
Shadow using the same settings as used in Step 9.
11.
Using the header tag for an example, make sure your
layers are all as they should be. Then, go to
Layers/Merge Visible. Layers/New Raster
Layer. Select a bright color from your tube and
set it as your background/fill color. I'm using
#AB1303. Stroke width is set at 1. I used
the Jacoba Bold font, size 90 for the beginning letter
of the name; size 76 for the rest of my name. Then
I applied a drop shadow using the same settings as shown
in Step 9.
12.
Layers/Merge/Merge Visible. Selections/Select All;
Selections/Float. Image/Crop to Selection.
Resize if needed and then merge all (flatten) your
layers. Save in desired format.
Below
is another tag I made from this tutorial.
