tutorial was created using Paint Shop Pro
version 7 but should be able to be created in
all versions of Psp. Word of
Warning: this tutorial has a lot of
toggling colors :) For
this tutorial you will need the following: Paint
Shop Pro (Trial Version) Unplugged
Effects Mask
here (Yali04 mask) Graphic
here Silver
pattern here Let's
get started on our frame. 1.
Open your image in Psp; Shift+D to make a copy
of your image. Close out your original
graphic so you will have it for future use; we
will be working with the copy of the graphic. 2.
Select two colors from your graphic to use on
your frame; make one of your colors a dark color
from your graphic and the other color a
medium/light color. Set your
dark color as ;your background color and your
medium/light color as your foreground
color. I'm using #1F2F46 for my dark
background color and #8B95B8 for my medium/light
foreground color. 3.
Now we need to set up our silver pattern.
Click on the arrow on the right hand side of
your background color box. Select the nine
little dots (symbol for patterns); then click on
the left hand side of your background color box
to open the pattern selection window.
Click on the arrow that is beside the pattern
preview window and a screen will pop up showing
all your patterns. Select the Zilver
pattern Angle 0 Scale 100% 4.
Image/Add Borders 2 pixels symmetric
checked. With your magic wand (tolerance 0
feather 0), click on your 2 pixel border to
select. Selections/Invert.
Effects/3D Effects/Cutout using the settings
shown below: Opacity
100; Blur 30; Vertical 0; Horizontal 0; Shadow
Color #1F2F46 Selections/Select
none. 
5.
Toggle your foreground and background colors so
that your medium/light color is now your
background color. Image/Add Borders 3
pixels symmetric checked. Click on your
border with the magic wand to select.
Floodfill your selected border with your silver
pattern. Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel
using the settings below.
Selections/Select None. 
6.
Toggle your colors again so that your dark color
is now your background color. Image/Add
Borders 2 pixels symmetric checked. 7.
Make your medium/light color your background
color; go to Image/Add Borders 10 pixels
symmetric checked. Select your border with
the magic wand. Effects/Plugin
Filters/Unplugged Effects/Snow using 50 as the
amount. Do not deselect. 
8.
Effects/Plugin Filters/Unplugged
Effects/Neighbor Blur; there is not setting for
this filter; just click okay.
Effects/Texture Effects/Blinds using the
settings shown below: Width
3; Opacity 39; Color #1F2F46; Light from
left/top checked Do
not deselect. 
9.
Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel using the same
settings as before in Step 5 (your settings
should still be there). Selections/Select
None. 10.
Set your background color to your dark
color; Image/Add Borders 2 pixel symmetric
checked. Toggle your colors and make your
background color your medium/light color.
Image/Add Borders 3 pixels symmetric
checked. Click on your border with the
magic wand to select. Floodfill with your
silver pattern. Apply the same
inner bevel as before. Selections/Select
none. 11.
Toggle your colors so that your dark color is
now your background color. Image/Add
Borders 2 pixels symmetric checked. 12.
Set your background color to your medium/light
color. Image/Add Borders 20 pixels
symmetric checked. Select your
border with the magic wand. Effects/Plugin
Filters/Unplugged Effects/Snow using 50 as the
amount. Effects/Plugin Filters/Unplugged
Effects/Neighbor Blur; click okay. Do not
deselect. 13.
Layers/New Raster Layer. Floodfill this
layer with your dark color. Masks/New/From
Image. Select the Yali04.msk from the drop
menu under the Source Window. Invert mask
data is checked. (Ignore my screenshot under
source window; it should be yali04.msk) 
14.
Masks/Delete. Merge into current
layer? Yes! Layers/Merge/Merge all
(flatten). Your border should still be
selected. Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel
using the same settings as before except
change the width to 15. Selections/Select
none. 15.
Toggle your colors so that your medium/light
color is your background color. Image/Add
Borders/2 pixels symmetric checked. Click
on your border with your magic wand to
select. Floodfill your selected border
with your silver pattern. Effects/3D
Effects/Inner Bevel using the same settings as
before except change your width back to
5. Selections/Select none. 16.
Toggle your colors so that your dark color is
now your background color. Image/Add
Borders/3 pixels symmetric checked.
Toggle your colors again and add a 2 pixel,
symmetric checked, border with your medium/light
color. Select your border with your magic
wand and floodfill it with your silver
pattern. Apply the same inner bevel effect
as before. Selections/Select none. 17.
With your background color still set at your
medium/light color, go to Image/Add Borders 25
pixels symmetric checked. Grab your magic
wand and click on your border to select.
Effects/Plugin Filters/Unplugged Effects/Snow
using 50 as the amount. Effects/Plugin
Filters/Unplugged Effects/Neighbor Blur ; click
okay. 18.
Layers/New Raster Layer. Floodfill with
your dark color. Keep your border
selected. Masks/New/From Image.
Select the Yali04.msk from the drop down
menu. This time invert mask is unchecked.
Masks/delete. Merge into current
layer? YES! Do not deselect your
border. 19.
Layers/Merge/Merge All (Flatten).
Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel using the
settings shown below.
Effects/Sharpen/Sharpen. Selections/Select
None. 20.
Toggle your colors so that your dark color is
now your background color. Image/Add
Borders 2 pixels symmetric checked. Toggle
your colors again so that your background color
is now your medium/light color. Image/Add
Borders 3 pixels symmetric checked. Click
on your border with your magic wand to
select. Floodfill your selected border
with your silver pattern. Apply an inner
bevel effect using the settings shown
below. Selections/Select none. 
21.
Toggle your colors one last time so that your
background color is your dark color.
Image/Add Borders 2 pixels symmetric
checked. Add
corners if desired; resize your graphic if
needed and save in desired format.
