All
tutorials created using Psp version 7; all other
versions should be able to create my tutorials.
For
this tutorial you will need the following:
Paint
Shop Pro (Trial Version)
Fantastic
Machines (Paint Engine)
Xenofex
Mask
and goldfill pattern here
Tube
and font of choice
If
anyone know who the creator is of this mask or
the artist of the tube, please contact me so I
can give credit to them for their wonderful
work.
1.
Open your tube, mask, and goldfill pattern and
minimize them on your Psp workspace for
now. Open a new image size 500 w x 500 h
with a transparent background.

2.
Set your foreground/stroke color to #A80A0A; for
your background/fill color it doesn't matter
what it is set to; click on the arrow on your
background color palette and switch to patterns;
select the goldfill pattern I supplied for this
tutorial; angle 0 scale 100%
3.
Floodfill your new image with your foreground
color (the red color). Effects/Plugin
Filters/Fantastic Machines/Paint Engine using
the settings shown below.

4.
Layers/New Raster Layer. Floodfill this
layer with your goldfill pattern.
Masks/New/From Image/lit_mask12 using the
settings shown below.

5.
Masks/Delete. Merge into current layer?
YES! Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow using
the settings shown below.
Effects/Sharpen/Sharpen.
Vertical
1; Horizontal 1; Opacity 84; Blur 2.5; Color
Black

6.
Bring up your tube on your Psp workspace; go to
Edit/Copy. You can close out your tube now
as we won't need it any longer. Make your
masked image active and go to Edit/Paste/As New
Layer. Resize your tube if needed.
Position your tube like you want it on your tag;
see my tag at the top of the page for an
example.
7.
Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow using the
settings shown below.
Vertical
0; Horizontal 2; Opacity 84; Blur 8.6; Color
Black

8.
Layers/Merge/Merge Visible. Image/Resize
by 90%; resize all layers is unchecked; resize
type is bicubic resample.

9.
Effects/PluginFilters/Xenofex/Distress using the
settings shown below.
Edge
Width 10; Irregularity 80; Edge Type jagged

10.
Selections/Select All.
Selections/Float. Selections/Modify/Expand
by 5. Layers/New Raster Layer.
Floodfill this layer with your goldfill
pattern. Layers/Arrange/Move Down.
Selections/Select None.
11.
Your goldfill layer should be your active
layer. Effects/PluginFilters/Xenofex/Distress
using the same settings as before in Step
9. Layers/Merge/Merge Visible.
12.
Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow using the same
settings as in Step 7.
Vertical
0; Horizontal 2; Opacity 84; Blur 8.6; Color
Black
13.
Image/Resize. Resize your tag by 85%
resize all layers is unchecked; resize type is
bicubic resample. You may need to move
your tag up a little towards the top of the
image so that you'll have more room for your
text.
14.
Okay, time for our text. Layers/New Raster
Layer. Toggle your colors so that your
goldfill pattern is your foreground color and
your red color is now your background
color. Click on the letter A in your tool
palette to activate your text tool. Below
are the settings I used for my text.
Font
Estranged 2; Size 72; Floating and Antialias
checked; Kerning 23 (optional; depends on your
text); Stroke Width 2

15.
Click on your tag image to open your text box;
type the text you want to put on your tag and
click ok. Your text will have ants
floating around it; do no deselect it yet.
Position your text on your tag.
16.
Now, you can either just add a drop shadow
effect to your text or you can do what I
did. While my text was still selected, I
went to Simple Filters/Offset by 3. Then I
used the drop shadow effect with these settings:
Opacity
84; Blur 2.5; Vertical 2; Horizontal 2
Deselect
your text. I really like the effect the
Offset filter gives to the text.
Layers/Merge/Merge Visible. Edit/Copy;
Edit/Paste/As New Image. This will remove
any excess canvas space around your tag.
Resize if needed. Layers/Merge/Merge all
(flatten). Save in desired format.
