This
tutorial created on April
15, 2004 and is the sole
property of Bubbles' PSP.
Do not copy this tutorial
or any part of this
tutorial to another site
unless you have permission
from me to do so.
PSP groups, please feel
free to use any of my
tutorials that you wish to
use in your groups; I just
ask that you do not direct
link to my tutorials;
please just share the url
to the
tutorial. I
used PSP version 7 to
create this tutorial; I
see no reason why it can't
be done in other versions.
JUST
A NOTE: Due to the
fact that I have been
going over my bandwidth
limit for the last three
months, I am considering
closing down my
site. It's just
getting to be too big of a
headache to deal
with. It's something
that I do not want to do,
but if the bandwidth
problem continues, I will
do so. Now, let's get on
with our tag tutorial :)
For
this tutorial you will
need the following:
Jasc
Paint Shop Pro (Trial
Version)
Xero
Filters (DuoChrome)(Set
3)
Screenworks
FM
Tile Tools
Tube
of choice
Font
of choice
Let's
get started on our tag!
1.
Open your tube in PSP that
you are going to use on
your tag; Shift+D to make
a copy of your tube; close
out the original tube as
we will be working with
the copy.
2.
Image/Canvas Size.
Change the canvas size of
your tube to 500w x 500h;
center image horizontally
and vertically are both
checked. If your
tube is still taking up
too much space on your
canvas, just resize your
tube by 75-85%;
resize all layers
unchecked.

3.
Layers/Duplicate.
You should have two layers
now with your tube on
it. X out (hide) the
"Copy of Layer
1" layer. (click on
the glasses by the layer
on your layer palette to
hide the layer; to open
your layer palette, just
hit the letter l on your
keyboard.)
4.
Make layer 1 (the first
tube layer) your active
layer. Select two
colors from your tube; I
selected a med/dark color
for my foreground color
#9d0e51 and a med/light
color for my bkg color
#edabe1. Effects/Plugin
Filters/Xero/Duochrome
using the settings shown
below.

5.
Effects/Blur/Gaussian Blur
with the radius set to
10.00.

6.

Tools/Blend Emboss using
the default settings
except change the
Intensity to 160.

8.
Remove the glasses from
your "Copy of Layer
1" layer. (click on
the glasses next to the
layer to remove the
glasses and reveal your
tube). Click on the
layer to make it your
active layer.
9.
Image/Resize by 90%.
Percentage of original is
checked; maintain aspect
ratio is checked; resize
all layers is
unchecked. Resize
type is Bicubic Resample.
10.
Effects/ 3D Effects/Drop
Shadow using these
settings:

11.
With your mover tool, move
your tube down and a
little to the left.
Layers/Merge/Merge
Visible.
12.
Now it's time for your
text. Layers/New
Raster Layer. Once
again, select two colors
from your tube; you can
use the same two colors
that you chose before when
we used the duochrome
filter if you wish.
I'm using #ad5584 for my
foreground color and
#edabe1 for my background
color.
13.
Click on the small arrow
on the right hand side of
your background color
box. When the popup
box appears, select
gradients. Click on
the arrow by the picture
of the gradient and
select your foreground/bkg
gradient from the
selection of gradients.
14.
Click on the letter A on
the tool palette to make
your text tool
active. Then click
on your tag to open your
text box. Below are
the settings I used for my
text.
Font
- The Daily Blah; Size -
80; Bold; Floating;
Antialias

15.
Type in your text and
click okay. With
your mover tool, place
your text in the position
you want it on your
tag.
Layers/Duplicate. X
out the copy of your text
layer and make your
original text layer the
active layer.
16.
Effects/Plugin Effects/Xero/Duochrome
using the same settings as
before in Step 4.
Effects/Blur/Gaussian Blur
with a radius of 10.
17.
Remove the X from the copy
of text layer.
Effects/3D Effects/Drop

rid of the excess white
space around your
tag.
Layers/Merge/Merge all
(flatten). Resize if
needed and save in desired
format.
Here
is another example of the
Duochrome Blur Tag.
